teaching quality piano lessons for 20 years!
This year, I celebrate my 21st year of teaching quality piano lessons to students of all ages. Originally from Northeastern Ohio, I began taking piano lessons at the age of six from classical pianist, Mrs. Marie Powell and started playing professionally at the age of sixteen. I studied Music Theory while attending Kent State University. In 1999, my family and I relocated to beautiful Wake Forest, North Carolina.
I love teaching piano in a fun, creative and encouraging way. My pedagogy is designed to help meet and nurture each student's individual learning style, so he or she can quickly grasp the concepts needed to play at a level of excellence. I utilize my composition skills to arrange and compose music to make each student sound amazing, no matter the skill level. |
More praise from clients...
"Kim has been teaching my two boys, now 17 and 12, for almost 8 years. She has the appropriate combination of motivation and encouragement without being overly strict. She involves my sons in the music choices and does other music theory drills with them. I often hear laughing from the other room. Kim also understands that some weeks are better than others in terms of progress, focus and the amount of time spent practicing. We all value Kim as a teacher and friend and look forward to welcoming her into our home every week!"

"Kim has been coming to our home for almost 7 years. I can't begin to tell you how much time and energy I've saved by having the lessons in the comfort of our home. I can clean, cook, or help my other child with homework while my daughter takes her lesson. Kim has been a joy to work with, and I'm grateful I now consider her to be a friend."
